Mrug Part 2

Image
According to Greek mythology it is Orion - the hunter. In vedas ,Mrug Nakshatra is also called as Agrhain.Shortform of that may be Orion, say many. The belt at the waist of Orion consists of three stars.Again 3 stars crossing this belt forms his sword. In between the space of Orion (Mrug) & (Aldebaran ) you can see his bow. The three dim stars above the shoulder of Orion is his head. Now see the red star which is at the left shoulder. It's name is  Betelgeuse (kakshi). It's  in the last stage of it's life. Betelgeuse is one of the  largest stars  visible to the  naked eye . If it were at the center of our  Solar System , its surface would lie beyond the  asteroid belt  and it would engulf the orbits of  Mercury ,  Venus ,  Earth ,  Mars , and possibly  Jupiter .  Diagonally apposite to it there's a blue star naming  Rigel , also known as Beta Orionis, is a  B-type  blue supergiant that is the sixth brightest star in the night sky.  . It serves as the right foot of O

15 December,2020, Tuesday,Dev Deepawali. Starting of Marathi month Margashirsh.(Head of a deer) In this month you can see Mrug Nakshatra in the East rising in the evening. It is Orion in English meaning hunter . It's the brightest & most beautiful object in the  sky. I personally like this Nakshatra very much. As we have seen earlier half of Mrug Nakshatra comes in Vrushabh Rashi & other half in Mithun Rashi. As the Mrug or Orion  is a big constellation it's story is also big,so let's divide it in two parts. In this part we will know about the story of the constellation & how to spot it in the sky. It's very easy to see because all the stars are bright of this constellation. At 8 pm , in the East, you can see 4 bright stars & 3 stars in straight line in between. According to Indians ,the 4 bright stars are 4 legs of a deer (Mrug) & the middle 3 stars arrow in it's pet.If you observe closely, you can see a triangle out side of the two legs towards

Rohini (Aldebaran)red colored bright star is the eye of the bull. Kritika( Pleiads)at the shoulder. Our milkyway passes by Taurus. M1 Crab Nebula lies near zeta tory star. There was explosion on 4 July 1054 & a bright supernova was formed. The shape was like a crab therefore the name. In Rohini there are 5 bright stars. They are in V shape. In ancient astrological granthas it's called as Bullock cart.(Chakada)(Shakat) Rohini has temp.of 3000 degree celcius. It's a binary star. It's diameter is 37 times that of Sun. There are 150 stars in Rohini.  Beta star in Taurus is known as Agni. Greek-Zeus god assumed a form of a magnificent bull to abduct Europa a Princess. He carried her out of the sea,so it's partly submerged. That'
